One license covers one person. Everyone who uses the light needs their own, including every member of a studio, team or production.
For your own VRChat avatars, on PC. Not for VRChat worlds, and not for anything outside VRChat.
You may earn money from content that shows the light. Videos, streams, sponsored content, paid VRChat photography and videography, selling images you captured, and using it at paid events.
You may not pass the files on. Not for any reason, free or paid.
01Ownership
The asset is the intellectual property of AVRFX, and all rights not expressly granted here are reserved. No ownership rights transfer to you when you buy or download it.
02License
AVRFX grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the asset on VRChat avatars that you own and upload yourself.
The license covers one person. Everyone who uses the asset needs their own, including every member of a studio, team or production. Shared, team and household licenses are not offered.
03What you may do, including commercially
Earning money from content that shows the light is fine.
You may
- Record, stream, publish and monetize images and video of the asset as it appears in VRChat, including sponsored and brand content
- Use it as your lighting while providing paid photography or videography services in VRChat
- Sell prints, edits and commissioned images or video containing the asset, as captured in VRChat
- Use it on your own avatar at paid events, club nights and performances
- Modify it for your own needs
You may not
- Share, send, copy or give the asset to anyone else, in whole or in part, free or paid, for any reason
- Redistribute or sublicense it to third parties
- Reupload, distribute or sell it, original or modified, on any platform or marketplace without prior written consent
- Install it on anyone else's avatar or project, paid or unpaid, unless they own a license and it is their copy being used
- Include it in an avatar, base, kit or bundle that you sell, gift or pass on
- Upload it on an avatar that is public, has Allow Cloning enabled, or sits on an avatar pedestal
- Use it in a VRChat world
- Use it outside VRChat, in any other game, engine or project, including renders, films and animations made elsewhere
- Use any part of it on its own, such as the model, textures, gobo images, materials, animations or animator, in other work
You may modify the asset for your own needs, but you may not distribute or resell a modified version. Every restriction above applies to a modified copy exactly as it does to the original.
04The line, in one sentence
The asset itself never reaches anyone else. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, that is the test to apply.
05Branding and promotional material
The AVRFX name, the AVRFX logo including the one on the asset's model, and all promotional material such as renders, trailers and store imagery remain the property of AVRFX and are not licensed to you. Beyond the asset simply appearing as it does out of the box, you may not use them to promote, label or represent your own products, services or content.
06Health and safety, photosensitivity
Several of the asset's animations flash, strobe or change color rapidly, in particular Strobe, Police, Disco and Lightning.
Flashing light can trigger seizures, migraines, nausea or disorientation in people with photosensitive epilepsy or similar sensitivities, including people with no previous history. Use these effects with care around others in shared spaces, and stop immediately if anyone present feels unwell.
You are responsible for how you use them around other people. AVRFX accepts no liability for any discomfort, injury or medical episode arising from their use or misuse.
07Technical disclaimer
The asset depends on VRChat, the VRChat SDK and VRCFury, all made by third parties and subject to change. AVRFX cannot guarantee the asset will keep working if those platforms or tools change.
Real-time lights carry a cost. An avatar using the asset is rated Poor or Very Poor by VRChat's avatar performance ranking system, and some players choose not to display avatars at those ranks. That is expected rather than a defect, and it applies to any avatar asset using real lights.
The asset is for PC avatars. VRChat does not permit light components on Quest and Android avatars.
08No warranty and limitation of liability
The asset is provided as is, without any warranty, express or implied. AVRFX makes no representations or warranties regarding its accuracy, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose.
In no event shall AVRFX be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the asset, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
09Refunds
No refunds are offered once the download has started. This is a digital product. The files can be copied and kept, so a download cannot be undone.
By downloading it you are asking for immediate access and accepting that any right to cancel ends at that point.
If you bought it and realised straight away that it is not what you need, ask before you download. Downloads are recorded against every purchase, so when nothing has been taken there is nothing in circulation and a refund is straightforward.
Once a download shows against your purchase, that option is gone.
Two things to check before you buy
- PC avatars only. It cannot work on Quest, because VRChat does not allow light components there.
- It needs VRCFury, which is free.
If you are not sure it suits your setup, ask before you buy. Pre-purchase questions are welcome and you do not need to have bought anything to ask one.
If something is not working, ask first
Most problems are install issues and take a few messages to solve. The documentation covers the common ones. Support is there to get it working, which is nearly always faster than a refund would be.
If a refund or chargeback is issued, for any reason, the license granted in section 2 terminates immediately. You must delete every copy of the asset from your computer, your Unity projects and any avatar you have uploaded.
Keeping or using the files after a refund is use of copyrighted work without a license. It is treated as infringement, not as a billing disagreement.
Chargebacks
Raising a chargeback instead of contacting support ends the license on the same terms, and ends access to support, the customer area, and future purchases.
Gumroad may issue a refund at its own discretion regardless of this policy, and nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law where you live.
10Termination
This license is effective until terminated by AVRFX. AVRFX reserves the right to terminate it at any time without notice if you fail to comply with any term here.
Acknowledgement and contact
By purchasing or downloading the asset, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, you are not authorized to use the asset.
AVRFX may update these terms at any time without prior notice. Purchasing customers will be notified by email of any change to the license terms.
